Welfare question

Hello all. Just a question regarding welfare. I have been working and paying PRSI for last 10/12 years and during the summer I became unemployed. I signed on at local welfare office and was seeking work.

While seeking work I had an accident. During one of my sign on days the welfare officer could clearly see I was involved in a accident. She told me to get a cert from the doctor. I went to the doctor and got a letter and four certs to say I was unable to work due to the accident.

With the loss of my job and the accident I decided to move to my brother in England to recover. I never sent the certs in and after a week or two the welfare payments stopped.

I provided for myself from some savings. I am now back seeking work.

Would I be still entitled to welfare? Also what should I expect from my local welfare office due to me being away for four and a half months?
