Booked flights with Ryanair but when reading through the confirmation email I noticed my last name is off by one letter. Does it matter or should I get it corrected. We are going to Malaga in April. Thanks.

Give them a buzz and explain your situation. They should change it for you free of charge if its only one letter. If they dont then ring again another agent might do it for you.

I rang them last week as I had managed to completely mis spell my first name and the agent said if it was only one or two letters she would have changed it free for me but I had completely stuffed up the first name and already checked in so there was nothing that could be done. I had to re-book the flight.

So call them and keep your fingers crossed.

Thanks. Tried that, was on the phone for 3mins total and when I got talking to a representative he corrected it there and then and resent the confirmation email. No charge and very nice.:)

For the love of God please delete this thread, last thing you want is a good story about Ryanair coming out.

Yes, definitely ring them. I made a mistake booking before for a group when I put in 'Padraic' instead of 'Patrick'. The Ryanair guy on the phone wanted €10 to change the name. I argued that it's the same name - just in Irish. Eventually he asked me to phone the Ryanair desk at the airport I was departing from. I did that and they said there would be no problem checking in and to leave it as it is.

It might be seen as a bigger problem with surnames though?

One of the lads book Ryanair flights for a group of us last year. One of the flights that he booked was for a lad with a surname PYNE. But he booked it PINE. The lad at the check-in desk said he would have to charge for change of name but then he let him off.

I double booked Ryanair once and had no problem getting my money back for the more expensive flight. Very helpful staff when you phone them.

Have to agree. I was pleasantly surprised with Ryanair excellent service on 2 ocassions recently. First, was a letter incorrectly typed for the passport information, it was amended with a quick phone call and I could reprint boarding card. Secondly, a flight was cancelled because of the recent strike and Ryanair were very courteous and efficient and booked us for the following day at no extra cost or hassle with insurances etc.In my opinion, Ryanair are doing everything right these days.

I rang ryanair having added an extra letter on my surname , i didn't have to reprint boarding pass and wasn't charged.

I find it funny that people are just expecting the worst (money and arguments) when changing anything with Ryanair, that when Ryanair just go and do something simple people are so relieved - it's like a positive experience with the company.
    Only Ryanair ! :pac:
