    European Deepstack Poker Championship II
    5th-8th Feb 2009
Red Cow Moran Hotel, Dublin, Ireland

    50,000 starting chips, 1hr clock, €1500+€150 entry.

The build up the European Deepstack Poker Championships is going very well. Already there are twice as many 100% paid in full players as we had paid in full the day before last years event so it does look like we will be one of the very few events this year that has more players than last year. This final thread should be used for any last minute questions and contains all the information you should need.

This year there will be one starting day for all players - Friday 6th Feb. Play will start at 2pm sharp with 10 one hour levels being played on day one and two and playing to a finish on day three,

The poker tournaments will be run by JP McCann and will be fully dealer dealt. Food will be supplied on Friday & Saturday.

As well as the main event there will be two side events and a super satellite. The super satellite will be on Thursday 5th Feb and will be €100+€10 with one rebuy and a top up available at €100 each. The side events will be a €500+€50 on Sat 7th and a €300+€30 on Sun 8th, both No Limit Holdem.

There is also a Charity Omaha €50+€10 rebuy in aid of Poker for the homeless which is run by Eamonn Connolly and Padraig Parkinson and supports The Simon Community & Brother Kevin among othere.

There is one more online seat only satellite on Green Joker Poker and Bluesq. It is $150+$10 and on Wednesday at 8pm. It needs 10 people to run. The prizepool will be adjusted for the exchange rate 2moro. Currently would be one ticket for every $2144.

We are taking reservations for the following events:

    Thurs 5th Super Sat
    Fri 6th Main Event
    Sat 7th €500+€50 game

You can reserve a seat until 2 hrs before your chosen event starts by emailing me directly. Only seats paid in full are guaranteed after this.

The €500 game and the Satellite are quite possibly going to sell out so reservations are advisable. The Main Event has over 100 fully paid entrants so it just depends, this is a lot more than this time last year so if you are travelling it would still be a good idea to reserve a seat.

I am not going to do one of those lists but we do have some very recongnisable players already 100% confirmed.

Confirmed as playing are among others:

    Joe Beevers
    Marc Goodwin
    Dave Colclough
    Julian Thew
    Padraig Parkinson
    Surinder Sunar
    Michel Abecassis
    Nicky Power
    Paul Jackson
    Michael Greco
    Mick McCool
    James Browning
    Stuart Rutter
    Rob Taylor
    Fintan Gavin

Registration still going well for this event. Mostly UK & French players so far. Still also plenty of hotel rooms in the area despite the rubgy.

Last live sat before the super sat is in the Jackpot tomorrow (Tuesday).

Is there a cash alternative for the super sat if you already have a ticket?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,836 ✭✭✭connie147

    Hi Mike/JP
We held a satt for this in the Cue Club and got 1 ticket out.It was won by Sandro Taddei. Book a seat for him please.

    Connie

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,506 ✭✭✭Shortstack

    Connie - Sandro's seat booked.
Doke - If you have a ticket paid for / won then you can get cash in super satellite
Spencerjames- I doubt there will be abook at this late stage, I was going to try and do one but not had chance yet.

Fingers crossed I will be getting out of the UK in time for this event! :)

If you need to reserve a seat in super sat just email me. There are plenty left but we only have a limited capacity so demand on the night could mean it sells out at some point.

Quick question, is the supersat still scheduled for 7? Been traffic madness there the last couple of days so could be a problem for a lot of people.

12 hours after we finish the first day is the norm so probably 4pm, depends on numbers really. I would think 4 at the earliest though.

stupid? well ok, maybe, but my idea of fun, being a sicko, twisted humour

In realation to the ME structure it says breaks after every 2 levels, what length are these and is there a longer dinner break after the 4th level? Trying to work out some logistics :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,506 ✭✭✭Shortstack

Breaks are 10 mins (realistically 15) with a 1 hour dinner break after level 6 (this is subject to change depending on start time etc.) At the moment we should start at the planned 2pm. It will only change if enough people are delayed today by late flights.

it started at 2.00 oclock today and they got 153 runners, and they lost the first player after 5 minutes how the hell do you lose 50,000 starting stack with an hour clock and blinds start at 25/50

it started at 2.00 oclock today and they got 153 runners, and they lost the first player after 5 minutes how the hell do you lose 50,000 starting stack with an hour clock and blinds start at 25/50

He got his whole stack in holding KQ with KQ on the board. Think the lucky recipient was Doke who must have had either a straight or a set.

How you can get a 1000 BB stack all-in with just top 2 is pretty mind blowing TBH......
