I find myself in the horrible position of looking for another job. I'm in this one for the past nine months & I now find myself unable to work for my company due to inept co-workers & admin staff making it damn near impossible for me to be successful at it. Every thing in micromanaged & held up at every stage.

I'm in sales for a major (& I do mean major) telecoms providor. I have virtually no experience in sales yet in eight months (+ one month training)have won €680k worth of business for them.

My previous experience is in IT where I was in admin/management for close to ten years (redundancy) - my problem here is I have no qualifications & everyone's looking for them now)

Is it worth registering with an agency or should I just trawl the sites & filter the agency "jobs" ?

You are probably going to get a lot of people telling you to stay away from agencies because there are fake jobs advertised etc etc.

My advise would be to have a look at the job sites and send your CV to at most 3 agencies to see if anything is moving with them. Also follow up with a call.

You can also just ring the other Telco companies and get the name of the HR manager to send your CV to them, thats if you are looking to stay in the Telco area.

To be honest though as much as you hate it you are in a better position then a lot of people out there at the moment so I would keep the head down until things start to pick up. Just in case you do move and then fall in to the last-in-first-out category in your new company.

If you've no major experience in sales, then you might find it tough going with the agencies, no matter how good you are at your job.

My suggestion would be to sniff out any business contacts you have first - people who are aware of what you do and how good you are at it. If you previously did enough to make a customer happy, then that customer may be eager to have you on their team.
