I bought one of these off iBood recently (well, before christmas) and finally got around to setting it up two weeks ago.

TViX box --> HDMI --> TV

fairly basic setup. havent conencted it to the network yet (and dont intend streaming media from my PC anyway) to transfer directly from PC to the local hard drive. so , up to now I've been playing media from USB key.

however, there appears to be a problem. every now and then the audio goes out of synch, it can go slightly out or be up to a full minute ahead of the picture. sometimes the audio disappears completely until you rewind and play again.

manual I have is in French (but google gifted me an english PDF) and I've checked that the audio is set to HD and analogue (other option is digital but I dont get any sound when i set that).

anyone have any ideas ? my next experiment is to copy from usb to local HD and see if that performs any better. thing is, my standard dvd player plays from USB without any hitch. the reason for the change was that the dvd player skipped when it couldnt read the data fast enough (outdoor scenes with a lot of moving objects caused serious picture and audio stuttering).

anyone else set one of these up ? having any similar issues ?

I got the same HD Player from iBood and have never had any sync problems! I am very very happy with it!

I dont watch many avi files mainly mkv files which I copy directy to the internal harddrive. I have the sound going through my Pioneer receiver using the optical connection. I have the audio set to digital.

Definitely copy the files to the harddrive to see how you get on! What firmware is on your machine? I cant remember if I have to update the firmware but the most recent is Ver 1.4.52 which you can get here

You could also have a look here for some help!!

When you get sorted have a look for a programme called TViXiE, I think its pretty cool!

thanks for the links. no idea how I didnt find that forum when I was doing my own searches on google.

Gonna try using a composite audio cable instead of the hdmi (yaay! more wires!) and possibly try using a set of 2.1 speakers I have lying around instead of the TV ones.
