Anyone here who has an experience with samsung american style fridge freezer? Thinking of getting one but was put off from bad reviews in uk site. But with the huge price difference with other brand am still tempted to get the samsung. If its not a good name what brand would you recommend for american style fridge freezer? Thanks and regards

My brother has a Samsung and so do my parents. Neither of them have the chilled water/ice maker facility. My brother has his for over two years and my parents have theirs a few months with no problem. I've a Whirlpool version for the last four months without incident.

I know a few people that bought Samsung American fridges a few years ago, and concensus was that they like breaking down every few months. However, I also know of people who never had any issues with theirs. I'm talking about the ones with water and icemakers, which would be susceptible to more issues than the standard one that crosstownk mentions.

I have a Samsung (with Ice and Water supply) in my kitchen for the last four years and apart from replacing the water filter every six months, not a single issue with it. works perfect..
BTW. I buy my filters on line from the UK at a fraction of the cost here;)

Any issues with the motor on such a large fridge, I heard the same sized motor goes into the "normal" fridge as the american style fridge
