Hi,

This is more than likely in the wrong place but I wasn't sure where it would go.

I run a business that makes 30-60 deliveries a day. To remind customers about their delivery we text them the day before reminding them of their delivery and with further details such as delivery times. At the moment we are doing this by use of a mobile phone and typing in every number manually - very time consuming!!:(

I searched the internet and found something like Clickatell, but am not very sure on the in's and out's of the service.

Has anybody any experience with this or any similar service that could offer me some assistance? Cost generally is not a problem.

I would also be looking for some help on Bluetooth technology - so that when people drive / walk passed my shop, a message is sent by Bluetooth to thier handheld device. Anybody have any idea on how this is utilised?

Regards,
Spud

You can use Cabbage from boardsie Sam Vimes.

It's a free desktop texting program so you can use your keyboard to text.
The program connects to your 02, vodafone, ... web page and sends the text from the web.
It also stores all sent texts with time stamp.

Btw, if I walk past your shop and you spam my phone I'll come in - but not to buy anything...

Hi Spud,

I'm based in Cork and have developed a system that does all of the above and a lot more (except the Bluetooth bit). PM me for more details.

This happened to me in a club I was in, in Australia. It aggressively sent repeat requests to connect to my phone and each time I declined it would instantly send another request. I had to turn off my phone, leave the club (get out of Bluetooth range) turn on my phone and disable Bluetooth as I couldn't access the menus because of this constant connection request.
Your not going to endear yourself to any potential customers by irritating the sh*te out of them and spaming them.

With the BlueMoz system, you are sent one Bluetooth message, which you can accept or decline. If you decline it you wont be sent another one
