Posted the french trailer a while back and here is the english trailer - be warned its been given the disney treatment, try and ignore the voice over if you can.

    Very Samurai Jack style animation.

Any word if its any good or not. The kid's voice over doesn't seem too good

I've seen the finished film in the IFI but I worked on it so my opinion is most likely biased. I think the finished film looks amazing and no one in the studio is very happy with the Disney treatment Beuna Vista gave the english trailer. Compare it to the french trailer which gives a much better feel for the film and the style of the animation.

Me and all my classmates at Ballyfermot have been dying to see this for well over a year now, especially since one of our tutors showed us the trailer they played at a festival (I think?) a little while back.
It was far better than the Beauna Vista trailer, that new one seems so generic, and shows very little of the amazing imagery we saw, and the girl character is barely in it at all.

Hope this film does wonders for Irish Animation!:)

Looks absolutly fantastic. Nice to see some animation coming out of Ireland again, Don Bluth's reign over here was a long time ago.

some clips from the film have been posted here They're from the french language version but you can get a nice feel for the animation plus the second one has a small song in english/irish.

It looks great- really professional and has a big budget feel to it. I have been looking at the listings for the festival and I'm disappointed there hasn't been much promotion for the Irish films. There are some good quality films this year but I haven't seen any interviews in magazines to create a buzz about these films.
Another film I'm booking tickets for is "I sell the Dead." It looks really quirky and interesting and is getting rave reviews and awards at other festivals. It stairs Hellboy and a hobbit so it has to be good!! Another Irish film to support!!

I Sell the Dead is'nt an Irish film. It was produced by Larry Fesseden's company and jsut happens to be written and directed by an Irish man.

I was reading some interviews he gave in some film mags- seems like a good guy. I think some scenes were shot in Ireland. My mistake!!

His short was very good and Larry Fesseden is a fantastic film maker and I have a lot of faith in I Sell the Dead being good.

I'm assuming you're asking for the top 3 Larry Fessenden films. My 3 favourites of his as a director are:

    1. The Last Winter
    2. Habit
    3. Wendigo

    wow

the first clip really shows off how they brought the book of kells into the animation, how the tress frame each shot looks just like the book its fantastic.

I dont know why but I also really really like the vikings in the 3rd clip and the movement of the wolves is pretty slick.

very happy with my tickets to this now :D

Saw this at the Berlinale but didn't enjoy it at all. I was slightly hungover though and the cinema was full of kids who were fond of clapping/screaming/cheering throughout the film. Think they could have done with different voices for some of the characters, just didn't sound right.
