I bought this receiver and I have aligned it using USALS on a motorized system but it doesn't have Astra 2 listed as one of the satellites. Does anyone know if there is a way to add satellites to a reciever? i.e. can it be done through software?

With a name like 'Imperial', I was expecting that it would have ornate brass handles on the side. :D

Just a thought, sometimes Astra 28.2 is listed as 'EuroBird 1'. Maybe it's there?

In Usals you should be able to scan left (or right) until you see 0.00, you should then be able to manually input the Satellite by editing - ie, Astra 28.2 & then drive your motor to the bird...

Enter ITV or BBC frequencys for strong Tp pullers when your driving from Other Sats.

Adding satellite positions sometimes needs PC.
Some boxes you can edit Name & Position of one you don't want (all more east than 68 and more west than 68 are certainly useless here).

It's uncannily like the Globalteq 700 HD CI combo receiver (I have one), but with different name plate. It's also like the Metabox - these are all produced out of one factory in Korea.
If it has the same firmware as my Globalteq you can add a satellite easily using the channel/transponder edit function. I had to do this for 43 West. Just a matter of clicking on "new" in the list of satellites, naming it and then adding in its orbital position in the satellite search menu. Pain in the neck having to add in 100 or so transponders with the remote, though!

The link you sent in your opening post, did you go to support-downloads? There is new firmware there and updating the firmware may put in new satellites.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

You might be onto something here as the receiver does list "Eurob28E". Am I to assume if it picks up Eurobird that it will give me the Astra2 satellites as well? I am not getting a good signal for Eurobird, maybe because I updated the firmware recently. I was getting a good signal previously. It is possible the dish is not aligned properly. When I setup the dish, I used USALS to go to thor3 and manually align there, then I moved to Hispasat and aligned there. The motor setup guide I was using said that as these two sats were on opposite ends of the arc that I should be aligned properly. I hope to recheck everything in a day or two.

The menu is not this sophisticated and does not allow for editing satellites

AFAIK this receiver is a rebranded version as the following:

    SATYCON HD3000,
    SKYWORTH HSD445
    Edision ARGUS

Yep did that, all it does is add a PVR function and removes the ability to update the receiver by satellite

Yes, I'd say that it 'should' have all the popular transponders (e.g. BBC 1 NI on 10773H) under that setting. You should be able to set say, 10773H as the target/reference signal and then use the control panel to move the dish east/west until you get the best quality.
