That's a lot of work right there

Its a little crazy but it sounds plausible.

Way too crazy. Ridiculously so. If lost ends with something like that I would be very very disappointed with the writers.
I also disagree with a few of his basic assumptions, so not going to pay much attention to it really.

    Never to crazy for Lost.
This is going to build and build for the next 3 seasons,i just hope they dont make it way over the top complicated when they finish up.
I like the idea of when they crashed that it was 1996 and therefore thats why Locke and Rose are not sick ....

It's been a while since I seen 1 of these. I remember they were rife during season 1 + 2

    Good Theory, very possible!!:D

If it was 1996 Claire would be unpregnated and Charlie wouldn't have his addiction (yes he beat his addiction eventually but Locke's disability disappeared immediately).
In theories like this there's always one or two aspects that give it away as being complete tripe, for me this is "Her device is a specially manufactured DHARMA device that allows Naomi to communicate in the past (on the island) with the future DHARMA in 2004 (on the freighter)".
Oh, the old specially manufactored device trick eh? How convenient.

Some nice work there but, straight off the bat, you can discount it with Daniel's exlapnation of time to Sawyer, comparing it to a piece of string.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,339 ✭✭✭me-skywalker

actually this theory is very good.. those ppl above who said its not good just because they coudlnt be bothered to invest some time and energy into thinking about it... plus he wrote the basis to all that before the end of the last season so he woudlnt have known some of the stuff thats come out since so the basis and fundementals of his theory are correct.. there are little thigns here and there that i dont agree with or cant see yet but in the whole its a sound theory.

His illustration for the theory has changed substantially in the last few hours (the actual theory hasn't been updated yet). Maybe his theory has been shape shifting constantly as the epsiodes progressed, making it seem more impressive than the original?

It was an good read though, with lots of interesting stuff I hadn't considered before. I've only watched each episode once so I've probably forgotton details that he got his ideas from.

I don't think his theory mentions anything about Sawyer & Co. jumping around through time though.

thats way too complicated to be what will happen, hopefully we wont need diagrams at the end of season 6 !

the only thing that stands out here is:

    # When you go back in time, you will still have your current hair style, tattoos, bodily organs, and memory. However, say you were paralyzed; fate would need to do some course correction to make sure that you are still able to play your past role in life. Thus, time travel can TEMPORARILY cure any physical ailments you may have had prior to entering the time machine. However, fate will still find a way to paralyze you once you catch up with the current time. Say the first time you were paralyzed, it was because you were pushed out of a window. Because “the universe has a funny way of course correcting,” you may get hit by a car the second time around.

could this be what is happening to Locke and his broken leg(s)?

I think the guy has done good work there. He might not have the overall answers but it wouldn't surprise me if elements of that theory, particular with regards to time and cause correction, prove correct.

I opened the link, scrolled down, and closed the link.

People dig too much into this God damn show.

I saw the other day that someone has posted this guy's theory on Youtube and I think it makes it easier to follow when you check it out that way...

    Part 1:

    Part 2:

    Part 3:

As I've said before I don't think he's necessarily right but I'd say elements of his theory probbaly do have merit. Worth a look.

I remember reading this before alright.

Or have I yet to read it?

Ah fuck, I can't remember. Or forget.

I think probably the basics of the theory are just speculation. When have we ever seen any evidence that Alex originally was a leader of part of a group that wanted to destroy the island or that originally she was never taken from danielle?

It does try to explain something odd about Richard. Whenever we have seen him in the past he has looked the exact same age and appearence apart from the one episode which was Bens first flashback episode. Season 3 The man behind the curtain i think. He had long hair in that episode and him and the people with him looked very rough and dirty.

Still though its an interesting theory and i wouldn't count it completely out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,646 ✭✭✭cooker3

I doubt the overall theory will turn out to be true but I like it's explanation of the behaviour of certain people.

In the end I hope that whatever the explanation is it will have that sort of detail for every ones actions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,640 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

The chap behind this theory posted his latest q & a vid here:

I do like his explanation of the whispers and the monster. Anyone else think he could be on to something? I think his theory on why the Monster killed Shannon and Eko is very good.

He seems to do q & a recaps of all the season 5 episodes.

To add to the time travel theory - there's a scene in one of the episodes of the first season where the Plough/Great Bear/Big Dipper star constellation is reversed. The only way this is possible is if the island is thousands of years in the future at that instance in time. The reason being is that the constellation consists of a group of star that are moving together so thousands of years in the future it will almost appear reversed.

It's the best theory going at the moment and still manages to hold up despite the fact that it was written months ago and several episodes have occured since. How many times have you thought you'd Lost figured out...only for the very next episode to completely disprove your theory? I know I have. I don't even bother guessing anymore.

Though I doubt it's 100pc accurate, if that did turn out to be the explanation then I'd be happy. I'd just wonder where they're gonna go with it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,716 ✭✭✭✭Earthhorse

Yeah, I gotta admit it's a pretty cool theory. Pretty complete even if it's not perfect. He's probably put more thought into it than the writers have.

Yea its fairly good even if some bits are just made up to suite teh theory the majoity could be plausible... hasnt been updated since episode 3 mayb -
    he's been prven wrong
    jst blanked of material
the episodes havnt offered up much(which i think they def have)
or he's rewriting it again... ha

Although there are some things in the theory that could turn out to be true, there's lots of things that are way off the mark. He has also re-written his theory a few times now, not completely, but he has made a lot of changes to the original one he had.

I think the best part of the theory is about Fate and course correction explaining a lot of the events on the show.
