Deferring one half of a Joint Major?

Hey, I'm doing a BA at the moment, in 3rd year and just wondering if it's possible to defer one of my joint majors until next semester? I'm pretty sure I failed at least 2 of the modules in the course last semester so I don't want the workload to overwhelm me! I also don't want to defer completely because I enjoy the other half and would like to get it over with sooner rather than later.
