In the past I've always found this site good, just as a one stop location with loads of contact details for dismantlers around the country and car lists.
    http://www.partfinder.ie

Maybe if you have no luck in Sligo you can expand the search to neighboring counties.

Golden Pages also have a category for Car Dismantlers
    http://www.goldenpages.ie/search/Car_Dismantlers.html
    and Sligo Car Dismantlers
    http://www.goldenpages.ie/search/sligo/Car_Dismantlers.html

    This one is in Gurteen.
They have Opels listed but I don't know what your looking for.
I'm sure a call would solve any queries you have though.

Cheers for the info peeps! I'm sure I'll get what I'm after - which is the little metal bit that hides the petrol cap.. it came off in my hand the other day when I was getting petrol - I checked with the Opel garage & they wanted €50 not incl. VAT or labour... for a bit of metal?? Recession me ar**!

Thanks again! Currently I've got (near) hold of a "petrol filter flap" (which, is embarrasingly the "technical name".. sounds like porn film terminology to me :D).. but it's in silver & my car is black - it's 30 yoyos cheaper - should I get it & "Black it up"?... like Twink in the early 90's?!

That could actually be not a bad idea.

If you leave it silver it will look cack.

Spray it badly and it will look cack.

If McCormacks were supplying and fitting a painted one for 50 it would be a good deal!

I'd rather it looked cack than give them my money.. they fit a new exhaust to the missus' car a few years ago & it fell off 2 days later.

Some garages are well dodgy... I once left mine into another (unamed) garage for a service - they did a load of work I never asked them to do & charged me well above the odds. When I got the car out on the dual carraigeway, there was an awful rattle from the engine, so I pulled over & popped up the hood to discover that a wire cutters had been left sitting in the engine.

So, I wrote to the manager to complain & he rang me to offer me 3 free tyres as compensation, which was better than nothing. However a few nights later I happened to be in Sligo having a few drinks & one of the mechanics who worked there came over to me & threatened to kick my head in after I got his work colleague into trouble with his boss. Nice customer service.

Sounds like your typical local garage to me :-)
