Check your local Aldi. I was in one today and they had a few pairs of snow boots left.

However, you don't need to be too paranoid about it. A decent pair of hiking boots will do the job just as well. Or as a worst resort, a pair of wellies with a warm insole and wooly socks. Ski resorts and towns are nearly all well maintained so that you don't need extreme footwear.

I usually wear hiking boots when I go skiing, but last time, I just wore a pair of waterproof walking shoes and they did the job fine.

Yeh, hiking boots are your weapon of choice here, no need to go looking for actual 'snow' boots. Depends on the weather/conditions at the time if you will actually need them or not too, you might get away with runners!

I usually go for runners, unless there's loads of snow on the ground, then its hiking boots.
Most places grit foothpaths and all so you should be fine!

You do mean 'snow boots' and not 'snowboard boots'??

I've only once been in a resort where I'd not have managed with just a pair of runners. You are best off with a pair of boots that come above the ankle though and can handle walking through a small puddle or two when staggering between accommodation and bar. A pair of CAT's/ Doc's or some walking boots as previously suggested would suit perfectly though, "snow boots" are most definitely not needed and will only take up valuable space in your luggage.

OP, if you buy over in Norway instead, you can claim tax back when leaving the country (as they are outside the EU). Plus they will have a good selection if you're anywhere near a town.
