Isn't this just advertising his own page?
    ANd therefore a pointless thread?

It's just the fact it's linked to your page,

I think your post title actually says it all - "prints etc... for sale, so easy" - the corollary is of course "prints etc... being actually sold, is darn hard"

Posts #6 and #8 of this post is probably sound words.

Unless you produce extremely compelling images and have a reputation which gathers followers - the idea of a web site like red bubble making you money (regular and lots!) is unlikely. You may catch a random sale from someone who happens to be looking for a specific image that only you have taken or has available online. If you are producing compelling images then you potentially will gather more sales than if you are producing regular stuff. With the likes of red bubble, I gather that you are a small fish in a very large pond.

Jezzz that all sounds very negative from me - sorry. I actually hope that you sell loads from there and that I am proved absolutely wrong. I would be delighted.

I think to sell will require effort in good old fashioned sales and marketing - hit the 5 p's which may be so dated that its time they came back into fashion. Many have reported in the above linked thread (and previous threads on the forum) of having their web sites and never getting so much as a bite and anyone who has had a bite has conducted the transaction offline (in most cases that I know of).

But most people have web sites for reasons other than sales - reasons which are probably fulfilled in terms of self publication and promotion. This is probably one of the reasons that sales generally don't materialise. Photographers (particularly amateur) generally like taking photographs and business isn't always something that they are good at. You may be best to have someone else look after that for you. Don't get me wrong - some may have such a skill (a number on this forum do it successfully particularly with event photography) but unless you've someone out there selling for you, or have the reputation selling for you then you are unlikely to be selling.

Hope that gives a perspective that will be interesting to you.

Yeah you really have to get yourself out there and be very active on RedBubble to get a sale. I've been on it awhile now and no luck... yet!!! I hope!!! Hehe!!!

But I did buy one of my own prints and the quality was great!!! :D

It is overall a great site I personally think just very hard to get yourself known.

redbubble is expensive and the artist makes feck all. Waste of space despite its ease. Imagekind would be very similar.

It is not trivial to sell prints and make a few bucks, especially with redbubble which is in Oz I think.

I have made more money through flickr than on redbubble tbh. I find redbubble a bit messy.

But best of luck to you anyway :)

I've had a redbubble account for over 6 months and to date ive made €20...

It takes massive effort to publicise yourself and your stuff needs to be good to stand out (both of which I'm failing at, hence the €20)

Good luck making cash out of it
