    Well people,

Seen this car last week and liked the look of it! Just a few questions which should be easily answered by people on here who seem to know their cars inside out!

What region should I pay for this?? What’s the petrol consumption like? Will it cost be a fortune to run? Cause with work the way it is I can’t have that at all. Also it has 90,000 miles on the clock, is this a little too high for a 03??

Anyone have any general suggestions on this car?

    Cheers

I'd say around 30-35mpg would be the norm for it. I'd say price should be in or around 10k maybe less given the mileage on it. If it has been looked after and has a full service history 90k should not be a problem.

The 2003 318Ci has a 2.0 litre engine and has pretty decent fuel economy for a 2.0 litre car.

OP it sounds to me like you may not be able to afford to run a car like this at the moment, maybe you should hang on until you are more certain you can rather than jumping in and then finding out it is robbing you and you have to sell it quickly which may not be easy.

    Thats sound advise, cheers.

So to my workings, and I could well be wrong! Its something like 9 miles per litre of petrol?

you'll get about 29 miles per gallon in city driving, they are extremely reliable cars and the milege really shouldn't be an issue-make sure that you check the dashboard for any warning lights and if there are any showing, it could be a sign of something wrong.

Has another else had any good or bad experiences with this car???

God, it’s such a lovely car, not too bothered about the BMW tag, but great lookin car. I'm so tempted… but what else should I look out for with 90,000 miles on the clock…

I've always thought of the 318 as "not a proper BMW experience", although I know then engine was improved in the later models of 318..
If it was my money I'd definitely be going for the 320, 323, 325 - anything but the 318, your MPG won't change to any great extent...
Still, undeniably a great looking car.

Eh it's a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder 141 bhp (105 kW; 143 PS) not that you care about the bmw badge of course.

Seeing as you have done lots of research(), it will cost you a (relatively speaking) fortune to maintain because its a premium brand. So you may be better off buying a cheaper car. Great car, cheapest version available, unless you have spent a few quid in the past on cars I wouldn't recommend this as once you have impressed your mates you still have to pay to service the car.
