I know you can do this in the UK, is there anywhere you can do it here? I usually just throw them in the bin but figure it would be nice to do something good with them given how many pairs I go through a year.

It's something I've been looking into. Nike won't answer my emails or calls re their scheme but I've heard of others that ship shoes directly to the developing world. Not got anywhere yet but I am trying.

I always do a collection at my club and give them to the Kenyans when they are over for the Dublin Marathon in October. They come over almost empty handed ( just a back pack with a bit of gear ) and go home with a full baggage allowance. I also give them football jerseys. I remember watching a programme on sky once about the benefits of living at altitude and there were dozens of Kenyans running around the dirt track in Eldoret wearing Ireland, Rovers and Celtic jersies.
If I remember it nearer the time, I'll remind you all so that we can maybe get a good few pairs ( mens and womens ).
