Hi, my bf needs glasses when reading, watching T.V. or driving, I'm sure of it.

He gets a headache and pains in his eyes. I'm fairly sure it's eye strain.

But he went to specsavers and they tested him and they told him as he had perfect vision (or thereabouts) then they couldn't give him glasses.

    What'll he do?

I had similar with computer screens for a while so I got tested and same answer, no real need. Is he spending all day staring at screens, if so does he take regular breaks, is the room dry (aircon), is the screen new and set at a correct resolution. All this can cause problems for people who really have no vision issues. Mine went again after forcing myself to stop staring so intently!! (i work too hard :D )

I'm in a similar position to him. I suffer headaches and they feel quite eye-related and I do have a light prescription for reading glasses but I still get headaches

his (and my) headache could be a tension headache (i.e. from holding head in one position too long; exacerbated by stress, lack of sleep)

    or could be TMJ (jaw-related)

also, to be absolutely positive in an eye exam, the pupils must be dilated. Perhaps you could get his eyes tested again with the pupils dilated to be sure it is not eye-related. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cycloplegic

    be nice to him :)

    Hey guys,

I think im going to go mad!! I m having same probs with my eyes. Get pains in my head and my eyes do get very stressed so much so they feel like der bulging out of my head. Went doc first as I was concerned about headaches and I was also feeling nausea!!! He told me my general health was fine to get eyes tested as I spend 5 days a week on computer (job related). The optician told me my eyes were 100% to go back doc and demand head scan. ( she terrified me!!)
I also suffer from fibromyalgia. I have been told this could be it either.
Could the optician detect eyestrain as in the muscles at back of eye cos im still convinced its my eyes that are wrong??
    Bit concerned now ..HELP ;(
