I have just gone over 1,500hrs on my Panasonic AX200 projector and need to start thinking about sourcing a replacement bulb / lamp (Model: ET-LAX100) for it, cos I sure don't want to end up in the situation of no big screen.

For those of you with more hours clocked than me and who have done this already, I am just wondering if you have any recommendations on where to source a replacement ?

    Thanks for any advice. :)

I know it's a different product, but my workmate was saying he got a bulb for his rear projection Sony alot cheaper from a site in America,If this is any use,I'll find out where exactly, off him Monday.

Cheers, I am not asking for anyone to find me the best deal on my replacement, just to recommend places I can possibly obtain one from based on their past experiences.

Try cvsmedia.co.uk, used them in the past and they were great.

yes cvsmedia is the best option (but shipping was about £30 for a bulb when i ordered one before xmas). Got it the next day though and really wanted it for xmas i'd still use them again.

my bulb in my optoma hd65 went after 600hrs and about 10 months of use!

Hi, I have removed and reset my bulb on my old Infocus X1 twice now.

Originally it was 4,000 hrs, I have done at least 6,500 on it now and it is just fading a bit. Apparently they die in a big way but as my projector is so old I don't care.

Dabs sell all the bulbs you could wish for

Yeah interesting, I am approaching 1,800hrs (2,000hrs is the cutoff) and to be honest, I think the picture is looking better than ever. Someone else also told me they knew someone who was on 6,000hrs with a Panasonic.

I guess the risk you take is the bulb blowing which would potentially mean a new projector.

CVS seem to have quoted me the best price to date of £225, however shipping is £35.

Will need to be making a decision soon - recession or not !

Don't bother with a new bulb. Run it down till it blows up.

You can get a new Acer 1160 for 230 quid. I have one and its a fab picture.

BAD ADVICE... That projector is not anywhere close to the HD65 & AX200 mentioned about.

The 1160 is SVGA, 2000:1 and does not even have a HD connection making is a very poor choice for Movies & Gaming.

    The 1160 is a cheap Business/Education projector!

Sorry my point was to keep using his until the bulb goes, then buy an 1160 for the same price as a bulb.

I am well aware that the acer is not as good as the HD65 (90% as good) and it does not have HDMI but that is not the discussion we were having.

About €400/€450 retail from a good panasonic dealer or better if they have one lying in 'stores'

    >Sol
BTW IMO Panasonic's kick anything but the HD85 in the Optoma range

Cheers, had seen pricejapan mentioned on other sites alright, but no one to now had mentioned them here.

Who did they ship with to you DHL or ? Also, any customs/duty impact ?

    Thanks.
