Mesa Boogie Mark V!

Yeah, we mentioned that in the Namm thread, it looks really awesome. It also celebrates the 40th Anniversary of Mesa/Boogie, which a lot of people will be surprised at.

The MKIV was in production (mostly) unchanged for 18 years, and IIC+'s are now worth more than they cost new, so the V has a lot to live up to. I have a feeling it's going to be spectacular. It takes the brilliance of the MKIV, and then adds on the various features Mesa has been working on in the last 20 years, such as multiple power outputs, channel 'modes' etc.

Can't wait to check one out :pac:

It sure has a whole lot of switches. :pac:

Looks amazing. However, I would love if Mesa made an amp like this with a Triaxis style UI and proper midi integration. How cool would it be to make patches with all the various channel modes and be able to access them with a midi foot controller!

I hope they'll be offering finance...

The US Price is about the same as the MarkIV was last year ($100 more) so if you can track down a UK/EU MKIV price youd have a good idea of what it will cost.

I don't have one anymore. Swapped it for a guitar long time ago.

As for the Mark V....looks tastey. Maybe too many switches, but a new toy for us too drool over.

    Maybe too many switches
There's a lot of switches alright, but the layout is very logical.
    markvch3.jpg

-The top switch selects one of 3 modes (voicings)
    -Middle switch is EQ on/off/footswitch
    -Bottom switch is 90/45/10 Watts

Each channel is the same. Pretty neat layout. There's a few others dotted around, bright switches etc, but on the whole it's a lot less complicated than it looks.

Feck the Mesa, if you scored this then you're really on to something.

I heard it on good authority from friends on the Ernieball forum last year and on the boogie boards which is the mesaboogie official forum.
Also John Petrucci was using a prototype in his rig last year during their european tour.
Theres no smoke without fire my friend;)
