if there's a risk of ice, dont bother. could injure yourself or damage the bike. i slid onto the other side of the road a few weeks back, luckily there was no oncoming traffic!

Obviously if it's icy, don't go out but I thought the weather forecast looks alright for tomorrow... What weather forecast are you looking at?

    This one?
Lowest temperatures minus 2 to plus 3 degrees, with frost in many areas and patches of ice on untreated ground.

don't think the ice would shift easily up the mountains.

    true.
In my experience if you are heading out Wicklow in cold/frosty conditions, then it is best to head toward Roundwood. Road is usually exposed to more sun than say military road, which is shaded by the mountains, consequently more prone to icy conditions.

Wow thanks for all the replies; weather is popular it seems.. !

Just had a massive pasta meal so Im gonna have to go now to burn that off :P

Was planning to start off in the Roundwood direction and come back the military road, maybe that will be a bit thawed later in the day..

EDIT; just realised roundwood is somewhere other than where I thought it was; actually starting out in the general direction of hollywood
