    Hi All,
I will be claiming my tax refunds for during unemployment in a couple of weeks (u need to wait min 4 weeks since working to apply). But I'd like to have an idea of what kinda money I'll be getting back from it, is there any way I can roughly calculate it? I was working from July to December, Anyone else doing the same?

A bit more information would be useful, but here are some example figures.

Let's say from Jan 08 to June 08 you were receiving Jobseeker Benefit (which is taxable), and the total you received was €5000.

Then let's say your job paid you €2000 a month gross, out of which you paid €95 a month tax.

So your total earning for the year were €17,000, and you paid €570 in tax.

Using http://www.taxcalc.eu/ (remember to select the right year), enter your total earnings in the Yearly Income box, and the amount of tax you paid in the Yearly tax box, select end of year tax returns, and in this case it shows that you're due the entire €570 back.

If your monthly salary from June to December was €4000 a month, and you paid €4300 in tax total, then your tax refund would be €2,100 (ish).

Easiest thing is to just ask the Revenue for a P21, and they'll do all the maths for you :)

All those figures are based on Single person with no additional credits.

You can only claim taxback when you have paid tax - so for this year for example if you've been unemployed since the beginning of the year you haven't paid alot of tax more than likely so if you want to claim back tax in four weeks time...well there won't be much tax to claim back.

I know that you do it every 4 8 weeks, but again it's based on you having paid tax. And it's only for this year right?

Why don't you check and claim back all your tax for the last four years. Loads of people out there revenuerefunds.ie, ros.ie, taxback.com

If querying tax back I would just deal with Revenue as some people/agencies charge for it by takin a portion of your refund i.e Taxback.com.. If you have any queries Revenue should help you out. :)
