    Hey,
My internet is working fine, every page loading etc, except for google.com and my gmail. Google.ie is working, but for example, the Google search bar on the front page of boards.ie isn't loading either.

I've tried in both Firefox and IE and it's the same problem.

I've tried clearing the cache and no joy.

    Any help appreciated

I have found this as an issue when other google stuff is installed. Like Google toolbars and that. I solved this on two PCs by removing the Google stuff from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.

Check your hosts file for any references to google.

Go to the command line and type "type c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" and copy and paste the results here if you aren't sure what to do.

Ok same thing is happening to me. And it's not just google that I can't access but a whole load of other sites. I did the host thing here is a screenshot.

Odd thing is my mate who lives next door is having even more major problems as detailed in this thread.

Sounds like a DNS issue. Lots of people having the same issue nationwide. Are ye both with Eircom?

Yep eircom, I am reading this thread now. Lots of people with the same problems.

Not an eircom customer but eircom websites (e.g. www.eircom.net) are either timing out or throwing an error for most of today. Looks like something is amiss in the eircom camp....

Changed my dns to 159.134.237.6, an old eircom one and everything is working fine now.
