Thailand Vs China

    Hi

I am in Thailand at the moment and got my teeth cleaned and they told me I need a number of fillings.
500 baht a piece or 600 with anesthetic.

Price doesn't bother me too much.
I am going to China tomorrow and am wondering which would be better for dental care, China or Thailand

Have you any experiences in either Thailand or China and if so were they good or bad.

    Thanks

There are good and bad dentists everywhere. Generally the more expensive ones are better (yes this is a generalisation but holds true). 500 baht is 10 euros, think that says it all really.

    Hi,

I have been to Bangkok smile on Asoke Road twice and would recommend them, I travelled to thailand twice last year for dental implants but I got some other work done there as well
They are used to foreigners and are quite reasonable and friendly.

    Hope this helps,

    CS

Fitzgeme, I disagree. I think what says it all is that they charge an extra 2 euro for anaesthetic. Laughable really.

    Big G,

I have had several appointments without anesthetic even in Ireland, I had work done (root canal) done in my front tooth post & crown so there was no nerve there and my Irish female dentist gave me the option and it wasn't so bad!
In Bangkok smiles they will happily give you the injection but yes you have to pay, like you do in Ireland too except it isn't nearly as expensive!
I have had two dental implants, my front crown fell out (the one done in ireland) so I was asked for 3000 euro for an implant here, it cost me 1000 + flight and hotel and I got a holiday out of it.
It is a long way to go for treatment and daunting for a beginner but the dentists are professional and very accomodating and if requested will arrange a Hotel at a discounted rate.
You can take it from me, I'm just back (January) if your on a budget get a Taxi from the airport 15 euro (I got Limousine (BMW 5 series) 40 euro direct to my hotel on Asoke road across from the dentist - Hotel FuramaXclusive excellent stay and handy beside dentist and metro station.
Bangkok is safe too during the day and evening, I wasn't out in the small hours but stick to the main thoroughfares and there is security guards everywhere.

    Hope this helps,

    CS
