Hi, In June 2007, during my sleep i fractured 2 front teeth at the gumline. I went to my local dentist who replaced the 2 fractures with 2 gold posts and 2 crowns. And to improve the look of my smile i got a further 2 crowns and 2 veneers at a total cost of €3500. Looked great, But after a few weeks one of the crowns on a gold post began to come loose. So the dentist reatached it. A couple of months later the veneer next to it came off.
Now what i should have done was question why my 2 teeth had broken in the first place. And you would have thought my dentist would have questioned that before doing any restorative work. But in my haist i didnt question it, just wanted the job done. About 4 months ago the veneer that came off had broken in two. So i returned to my dentist. She had left the practice. So i had a new dentist.

The first thing he done was questioned what had happened in the first place. He got another dentists opinion. They both agreed that there was an orthadontic problem. And that the restorative work carried out by my last dentist wasnt up to scratch. So i was referred to a orthadontist. She agreed this and said alot of my restorative work needs to be re-done. And claimed she hasnt seen anything like my problem before. And forwarded me on to the Dublin Dental school & Hospital. I am now awaiting an appointment.

So my main question is, Is my local dentist practice that carried out the original work liable to cover the cost of any of their work that now may have to be replaced. Or have i any recourse because they never found out out what my original problem was.
Its approximatly a year and half since the work was first carried out and i would think that i would be due at the least a full refund.

Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
