Heineken Experience is definitly worth checking out... even if you're not a beer drinker.

Also if you're going to Anne Franks house, you might want to shedule that for early morning as the queue's are usually really long.

The Heineken Experience has reopened after a revamp.

As the other poster said, get to the Anne Frank House early!

Canal Boat trip. Good way of getting bearings, takes about an hour and costs less than a tenner.

Brouwerij t'ij - mad opening hours. Depending on the day it may not open until mid afternoon and mostly shuts at 8.00 p.m. Weird place!

An Ajax match at the ArenA is a great experience. Very easy to get to the ground on the underground but I've heard that getting tickets is not as easy as it used to be.

In general, just chill. It's that type of city.

you can pre-book tickets for the anne frankhuis, and go right to the top of the queue..

Take a full day or half day trip outside Amsterdam. A short (bus or train) trip from central Station and you can visit Haarlem or Leiden which are both interesting places to visit. Haarlem is great to eat and shop. Or do the cheese thing and visit the markets of Edam or Gouda, both of which are easy to get to and small enough to walk around.

Thats probably because Belgium is the worst place in western Europe!!!

Amsterdam is great, about two weeks ago myself and my girlfriend had a weekend there. We did the Anne Frank house and the canal boat trip. We planned to do more but you get swept up walking through the red light district , seeing great sights etc.

I really recommend the Anne Frank house although the queues for it can be unreal so make that your first stop. The boats are constantly going and there are multiple companies doing it so there's no rush to get to them.

    Other than that, have fun!

There is a really funny sex museum in the red light district if you want to see some weird S**T.

Theres a theme park just outside of the city called walabi world if you're looking for something to do.

Amsterdam is great fun, you should try if try if you can to do a canal trip there great the only disadvantage is that it gets really cold so do bring warm jumper of coat.

Check out www.amsterdamby.com or veneer.com for accomodation. I usually stay in the Hoofstraat area of the Dam. Its a nice area, very central, near all the restaurants and around the cornor from the Van Gogh museum etc.

Go to the Rykes muesem if you get a chance and also see the royal palace which is in Dam Square, if you are looking for food which is good and reasonable try the wok to walk outlets, you pick your options and they cook it while you wait, very popular among the locals and also try wth chip with mayo there fab

yeah! +1 for that - but it's very pricy and you don't get to pick what you eat. Also, if there are more than two of you, the others have to sit at the end of the bed and it's uncomfortable, but yeah - would DEFFO recommend this.
