    This thread is for the discussion of banking institutions that don't have their own dedicated thread (Friends First, Permanent TSB, etc.) There are separate threads for AIB, Bank of Ireland and Anglo Irish.

    Please refrain from making new threads on banking shares.

    has anybody any idea why these shares are taking such a hamering today is it just lack of investor confidence or the belief that nationalisation is coming down the line or somthing else that iam not seeing

    cds spreads hit the roof today for irish banks. Also, apparently institutional traders are avoiding anything to do with Ireland.

    ya i was on to sharewatch this morning and they said that nobody was dealing in banking shares
