Presumably the guide says for Thomson Digiboxes:-

    1. Check the Installer menu and press the red button in each sub-menu to set values to factory defaults. Press [services] 401 [select] (quickly).

    2. In the Installer menu, perform a "Planner Rebuild".

    3. If that doesn't help, wipe the Hard Drive completely by selecting "Full System Reset". (You will lose all recordings).

    4. Check Power Supply capacitors for signs of bulging. If any are bulging or if the Digibox is over 14 months old, replace the capacitors with a Satcure kit or replace the complete Power Supply Unit.

    5. Hard Drive failure is a common cause of faults. Replace Hard Drive every 2 years (but fix the Power Supply first).

That will be £2.45 please! ;)

(Info gleaned from here: http://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/thom_psu.htm )

There are also some rather obvious tests you can do such as swapping the LNB connections to determine whether the cable, LNB or Digibox is faulty.
