I'm looking at changing my home insurance so I've started to get a few quotes (including bike cover outside of home). I have put a few of the quotes I got up on the wiki

    http://wiki.boards.ie/wiki/Insurance#Theft_Insurance

Worst of the bunch seems to be Quinn, best so far seems to be FBD.

Did you find out the excess for each claim and is there cover for accidental damage to the bikes. The excess can vary from policy to policy and FBD may have quoted with a higher excess

The excess is a decent question actually. I think for 123.ie and Allianz it was 125 euro, not sure about the rest.

I didn't compare rates for accidental damage.

Different parts of the country could make a difference also because of high crime in certain parts. Was your quote based on Dublin rates?

TBH the limits for Quinn wouldn't cover most people on this forum.

For what it's worth FBD have sponsored cycling (mainly through substantial support for the Ras which probably wouldn't be still going with out it) for 25 years and counting.
All things being equal give them your business :)

They were also very fab on a bike related claim a few months back, so +1 to this!
