Nice Restaurant in Edinburgh

Hey folks,

Bringing my g/f to Edinburgh soon to celebrate a special occasion.
Any recommendations on a highly rated restaurant (but not totally through the roof either) ?

Looking for something along the lines of Chapter One in Dublin say...
Or do any famous chefs have establishments there?

I was in the Tiger Lily hotel last year, its a boutique hotel with restaurant, food was devine, and hotel gorgeous. I dont think the prices in the restaurant are through the roof either.

Excellent food and extremely friendly service. Owned and ran by the chef and head waitress (or whatever you call them). Book it online through them.

I think it cost us about 110€ back in november as for a couple but worth every penny.

I'd strongly recommend the "Travellers Fare" carriage on the train to Glasgow, where you'll have a much better time! Do a decent burger too.

More seriously, The Tower restaurant at the museum. Fab food, great views, potential for celeb-spotting & shouldn't require a second mortgage.
