Best Hotel in Dublin?

I have a free meal in Bentleys coming up so I was thinking of splashing out on a hotel. Just wondering does anyone know the best 5 star hotel in the city centre? The Westbury springs to mind but is always very expensive even in these recessionary times. Anyone recommend any others? (The meal is free in Bentleys because the one we had there last week was so crap. I cant look at Richard Corrigan anymore after it!)

best hotels in dublin would be the morrison, the clarence, dylan's and the merrion. if you're eating at bentleys (yum) the merrion would be the closest

The radisson near stephens green, the hilton in kilmainham, fitzwilliam at stephens green, merrion hotel on merrion street, the clarence on wellington quay, the shelbourne at stephens green

I'd have to say The Merrion is by far the best.

The bar lacks a little atmosphere but as you're going to Bentley's you can get over that.

The bedrooms are gorgeous - by far the nicest in town and the ambiance of the whole hotel is luxurious without being tacky.

It is dear - too dear to be honest but see what you can negotiate.

So you want the best, but don't want it to be expensive...?

    What is your budget?

Might try the Merrion. Its a Thursday night so might be able to get half decent price. As I said was in Bentleys last week and it as awful. Have been invited back for a freebie by the manager. I had fish and chips. Chips were nice, fish was awful. You would get far nicer in our local chipper to be honest.

Id pay about €200 for a room. Im looking for something a bit fancy but as its midweek and hotels are struggling Im looking for a bit of decent value. Westbury is about €240 and they have a 15% service charge as well on top of that.
