Where to get Irish companies database?

I know Kompass but apparently their base is very much outdated. Is there a way to get this for free, or very cheap, from the tax office or somewhere else? Looking forward for some emailing. Cheers in advance

Thanks guys, I was hoping to find a DB with company names, director names, CFO addresses..
The first link provided seems to do this for free, I just need to register apparently.
That's ok if I have to build this manually, as long as I can select a few hundreds companies.
