My GF was just on antibiotics and unfortunately has got thrush which I inherited from her through doing the wild thing. Is this a trip to the doctor or can I get something in a pharmacy over the counter to nuke it?

You could try the pharmacy as they do have treatments for women(canestan?sp), but I think they're pessarys. The doc would be your better bet by far. Wear condoms until you get the all clear or you'll just risk reinfecting each other. Actually doc your better bet

Talk to your chemist there are creams but they may refer you to the dr esp if it is your first time.

You can get canestan cream over the counter, I think you can even get it in the supermarket. Use three times daily and abstain until you're both cleared up.

If you want to go to the doctor you'll be given a tablet, which is far less hassle but you'll still have to abstain from sex.

No need for docter. Has happened tome a few times over the years. I just made sure to clean thoroughly every day and make sure it was dry after before retracting foreskin.

Dissapeared in a few days. But then again that just my experience and I am not a doctor.

I've had this several times over the past few years. Just get Canesten form a chemist. Ask for the 2% version. Smear it over your bell end twice a day and it should clear up. Works for me anyway, clears up in no time and a doctors visit is never necessary (for me).

Hi... Just after going through the exact same at the mo with my boyf. I was on anti-biotics and passed thrush onto him

So I used the canestan pessary and hes used the cream, the 2% one is best. Its all clear now and on a promise for tonight ;)

I reckon that covers the basics without straying into medical advice, so good luck to the OP. Closing the thread before it has a chance to stray..
