There is a Flygbussarna coach to Stockholm 20 minutes after each flight lands in Skavsta http://www.flygbussarna.se/Default.aspx?lang=EN
Think it costs 240 SEK return (~€24).

I flew into Arlanda (ARN) with SAS - www.flysas.com
Flight was excellent and there is an express train service from there to the city centre. I found it much easier than doing the Ryanair option, and not much dearer.

It's organised by Flygbussarna, similar to Ireland's Aircoach as far as I can tell. "20 minutes after each flight lands" is what I read - you should check it out anyway but I would very much doubt that they would leave a plane full of passengers disembark in the middle of nowhere in the snow and -12degree weather with no public transport to the city.

There's nothing to eat in Skavsta airport (bar a little shop to buy stuff) but within 2 hours you'll have plenty of choice in Stockholm. Good place to go is Gamla Stan (the old city) which is close enough to the bus terminal. Lots of restaurants and stuff to see.

I take that flight and bus at least twice a year and its a great bus service if you ask me. There is always a bus waiting and its a really comfortable coach and not too pricey for a return journey.

As for accomo in the city-im not too sure as I stay with relations but the city centre is relatively small so wherever you pick will be in walking distance. A nice area of the city is Djurgården and here you have two main attractions-the Vasa Museum and Skansen. I dont know id there are any hotels there though but again city centre is about 20mins walk away and its a beautiful walk.

    Hope that helps!
