New Muay Thai Coach at KO Martial Arts

After dropping many, many hints at him during his time with us, I've finally managed to convince Paddy Ivers to take the reins of our Muay Thai programme at K.O.

For those of you not in the know, Paddy is a top fighter, having fought in Ireland, in the UK and in Thailand and is also highly respected as a coach in the sunny south east.

So we now have Monday at 7pm, Muay Thai 101 for total beginners, and Muay Thai at 8pm on a Wednesday, hard padwork, and sparring for fighters and those with an eye on competition.

This is a great move for the club, having a specialist stand-up coach, and the girls and boys are still raving/moaning about his first session last Wednesday.

    Congrats Barry.

You gonna start turning out "pure" Muay Thai fighters? Or is it more geared towards the MMA side of things?

Well Paddy only does "pure Muay Thai" so that's what the guys will be doing. I don't make plans so wat happens in the future ...happens!

He was asking me to do a fight before though but I'm resisting on account of liking my shins the way they are.

Well, glad to hear it. Always good to have the word spread. :)

Ah don't mind your shins. You could do a few amateur fights if you were interested, or semi-pro if you were only worried about your shins.

I've had the pleasure of having my legs/face kicked off me by Paddy and he is a quality Muay Thai fighter. When he told me he was training out there I knew it would only be a matter of time before he was coaxed into imparting some of his vast muay thai knowledge and experience. Good luck.
