I have a dilemma. I have moved over to the UK and took my Irish car with me. Now I have bought a UK car with insurance on it. I need to take my Irish car back to Westmeath to sell it the issue I have is as follows. My UK insurance company wont cover the car as its not registered in the UK. I rang Insure.ie and Quinn Direct and they dont offer tempoary car insurance does anyone know a company who offers a policy for 3 days?

Could you get a mate who has their own insurance to transfer their insurance onto your car and come over and drive it back for you ? Obviously you'd have to fork out for a ryanair ticket for them but otherwise thats probably the easiest way to get it done.

If you have a friend with fully comp, they should be insured 3rd party if you let him/her drive it. (Maybe not in the UK?)

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
