    I'm going into training for a trip to Australia.

    There are plenty of sites that guide the photographer and today's find is useful for anybody planning to visit Paris:

    Any advice on places not to miss in Melbourne and Tasmania would be welcome at this point. I already have the photos of the Blue Mountains which are "de rigueur" and one of the Twelve Apostles crumbled after my last visit to the Great Ocean Road.

    Be Prepared...

    For Melbourne, Flinders street station is pretty iconic, the Botanic gardens are nice. There is also a relatively new square beside Flinders St station which has some some modern architecture.

    Taking a tram out to St Kilda is worth a trip. You can walk along the promenade.

    Brunswick Street (just outside the city) is fantastic for coffee shops and restaurants. Very Bohemian.

    The main museum is very impressive too. They have a neighbours bit in it!

    Tazzie:

    * Wineglass Bay & The Freycinet NP - Gorgeous nature & plenty of little flully creatures around when evening falls (or early morning)
    * Cataract Gorge in Launceston
    * White white beaches and azur blue seas @ East coast (Friendly beaches, Bicheno, up to Falmouth)
    * If money & time available; the Tassie Devil enclosure NP @ Maria Island

    Melbourne:

    * Cliché but notheless fun fun fun: St Kilda & the entrance of the lunapark there
    * Brunswick street @ Fitzroyfor those more arty/Indie/bohemian photo's
    * Queen Victoria Gardens & KIngs domain
    * Touristy but obligatory; Federation Sqaure

    If you're going to go into Victoria as well, just say so and some more tips will follow!

    Many thanks for all those good ideas.

    I've been to "The Prom" and you might enjoy this photo of Squeaky Beach:

    If you look at the description on the original Flickr page and the comments, you will learn why the sand squeaks there.

    It's like a scene from Nevil Shute, without the horror.
