If you are disciplined then you could take home study but to be honest classes are better. You could do both where as you take the books, past exam papers and cover all of the course in six months and the attend 3 months of classes and sit your exams, that is what I did for my ACCA finals, which I passes first time.

I did cima with no classes - just the revision weekends. but it depends on what type of studier you are really - some people just like going to classes. However they are pretty useless if you just go to the classes and don't review material in the same week - you'll just forget it and have to go over it pretty much completely again. key for the exams is not to spend too much time on the theory and get doing revision questions - start this even when you don't really know the material - it's the best way to learn.

CIMA is different than ACCA. You can pass the exams P6 without the notes, so home study may waste lots time on detail. For P9 lots of calculations it is suitable for home study. and P9 had lots of theory. and some calculations.
But i would recommend doing the class's. It helps focus your study and will eliminate over 3/4 of the book which has useless detail that you don't need.
It'll be a tough 3 months presuming you are at finals.

DBS p3 lecturer Gerry Hunt in dublin is class.
BPP P9 in dublin or limerick Michael Barry is also excellent.
BPP P6 in limerick Mick O'callaghan is excellent.

Those are the lecturers/courses I'd recommend.
Also if you are doing courses ask about the lecturers who are giving them from people who have done the courses. I got stuck with a terrible lecturer in DBS for P6 last year. Nothing he did was relevant to the course.

What collage would you recommend for the managerial level papers? I am sitting my first CIMA exams and think I am going to do P1 & P2. The classes in BPP start on Feb the 4th so I need to registering shortly and was wondering do you have any advice on which is best BPP or DBS??

    I'd give P6 with MOC a miss.......
