Scrambled password-getting email

Friend of mine has scrambled his password for exam purposes. He know wishes to return,kinda. Can anyone tell me how they can do this. If you need to know who it is or email address etc,i'll pm ye. Thanks ^_^

The login page should have a "forgotten password" link which he can use to reset his password.
