Rental Allowance Reduction

    Ok, so as we all know in the last budget it was decided that the rental allowance would be reduced by E5, whereby previously recipients had to pay E13 of their own money towards rent, whereas from Jan 1st this would be increased to them having to pay E18 towards their accommodation.

    Now I'm in receipt of a rental allowance - I'm in a one bed flat, so for my area I'm getting the maximum of E115 per week - minus the E13 contribution I had to pay and I was getting E102 per week.

    Now since the budget I was expecting to only receive E97 from Jan 1st, however since the new year I keep continuing to get the E102 I was previously.

    Has anyone elses Rental allowance not being affected? Or have I taken this up wrong?

    My friends rent allowence was €127 now €122 so they are reducting it. Your lucky - or mayb one week they'l give you nothing to make up for all the extra €5's you've been getting!!
