Theres probably about 50 odd that havent been included as they are scattered around the house/on loan/gone missing.

What are the best 3 movies in my collection ?

What are the worst 3 movies in my collection ?

Ah it's too hard to pick top or bottom films.

You're missing The Warriors though. Shame on you...

You've got a few Lynch ones there but you're missing out on his best - Mulholland Drive.

Strange but interesting choices. I've yet to watch Phantasm. Very unusual that you have Deer Hunter amongst the worst three.

I know, it's what you get when you spend nearly every penny your earned since you were 16 on media and not alcohol. Had a friend trying to figure out why his collection was a 20th mine and had to inform him that spending 200 euro plus a week on alcohol does'nt leave much room for anything else.

First off, nice collection. Hard to choose the three worst.

    IMO

Best = Fight Club, Shawshank Redemption and L.O.T.R (trilogy)

Worst = 30 Days of Night, Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas and The Royal Tenenbaums.

Must have s missing= Leon, Fifth Element, 300, House of Sand and Fog, The latest Appleseeds, Musa(the warrior), Kung Fu Hustle, Serenity(movie), V for Vendetta, Battle Royale, Young Guns, Infernal Affairs(better than the departed), Bang Rajan, Legend, Dazed and Confused, Totally Bill Hicks, Hero and Primal Fear.

Arg, this is turning into a handy thread for a completely other reason. Im starting to realize how many dvds Im missing. I have 300, Serenity, Battle Royale, Dazed & Confued and Totally Bill Hicks. They must be out on loan..I shudder to think how many dvds Ive lost over the reason from unreturned loans to friends.

p.s The Royal Tenenbaums is one of my all time favorite movies. I suggest you give it another watch! (I didnt like it at first either)

Here's mine.. probably not fully up-to-date, but close enough!

    http://basquille.dvdaf.com/owned

D'ya know the worst thing about looking at a load of DVD's you own? Mine is in a big tall wooden cabinet beside the telly that I got from Argos and you start to realise how much you spent and how much it's depreciated over time? For example.. I remember distincly spending €20 on 'Eternal Sunshine on The Spotless Mind' when it was first released... and I saw it for about €3 - €4 in Zavvi last week. I know it's to be expected but makes me a bit miserable. And what's worse is seeing DVD's for cheaper that you have at home in the plastic wrapper and un-watched.

Suppose what's makes up for it is some of the good misprices / deals I've got over the years on DVD's - e.g House - Season 4 for €4.49, X-Files Complete Collection for roughly €70, Futurama (Seasons 1 - 4) boxset for €40, a couple of DVD's (High Fidelity, Wonder Boys, Office Space etc.) from Play for €1.50, Godfather Collection for €17, Alien Quadrilogy for €18, Indiana Jones boxset for €20, League Of Gentlemen boxset for €18, Superman (Christopher Reeve) boxset for €24, Seinfeld (Complete Collection) - €100, Frighteners (3 Disc boxset) - €8, Arrested Development Seasons 1 - 3 was €24 for the 3.

Suppose the good deals even things out!

Its why my brother is now the only person who can borrow my dvds and vice versa. Too many lost that way. No Leon, how could you. I highly recommend the others I mentioned that you dont have.
I will give the Tenenbaums another go somtime soon. But still 30 days of night, NEVER:D

And now a word from Bill

Really nice selection of movies there. Your review scores are awful though.

    Goodfellas - 6/10
    A Clockwork Orange - 4/10
    Godfather I - 7/10
    Godfather III - 7/10
    Sin City - 3/10

And Lady Vengeance better than Old Boy ? Not a chance.

Sin City was just so mediocre, doesn't even work as popcorn entertainment.

I liked Goodfellas a lot (But 8/10 and above are movies I love), what else can I say?

The Godfather Trilogy is excellent, 7/10 seems about right for those two. Again I don't see why I should rate I and III higher just because they are not among my favorites. Part II is easily in my top 50 movies though.

A Clockwork Orange is overrated as hell, hypocritical and self indulgent.

Lady Vengeance and Oldboy are almost on the same level to be honest. But Lady Vengeance is just bliss, genuinely gets better every time I see it and one of the only movies capable of bringing an unsentimental guy like me to tears.

My scores would be (out of 5)

    Goodfellas *****
    Clockwork *****
    Godfather I *****
    Godfather III ***
    Sin City ****

Fair enough, Godfather Part III was a lot better than I thought it would be.
