- No it's not for overweight keyboard players!

- Just wanted to throw up a music production thread that relates to keys players:

I know alot of people have different approaches to production. Some play guitar and that's where their music comes from. Some are pure programmers, never touching an instrument and some, like me, come from a piano background and have graduated into the world of synths and keyboards!

I was hoping there are some like minded individuals out there that can share some golden info about their styles, gear, tracks, influences etc.

This is going to be the studio players dream. Finally, a studio, digital piano that IS an actual piano!

Interesting topic, all the piano sounds out there that are 'plug ins' are unbeliavably terrible, completely unrelaistic emulations.. Let's hope that changes, the new paino in pro tools 8 was such a drunken flop! What a disaster !

Was demo'd the Pro Tools 8 'piano'. To me it's one bank of piano samples, with different EQ presets, that's it! Anyone got the inside track on this please post, would love to know!

I think the V-piano will bridge the gap for the engineer in his studio. Rather than having a MIDI controller (most of which have the action equivliant to a typewriter) hooked up to your host studio machine, running some software which WILL suck your system dry of resources, you can have your client sitting in the live room, which as a piano player I think is a better environment for playing in. We'll see it's uses unfold over the year IMHO.

sounds pretty good to me , lots of tweaks in it , even down to foot pedal squeak .


pro tools 8 baby grand is upposed to be great - I heard a good player i know talking about it.

We were decidedly unimpressed with PT8s Joanna. Of all the included instruments it was the weakest.
