Just caught this on BBC 1 one now.... fecken hilarious.

It's like "It's a knockout" or those crazy Japanese obsticle course races...

I love the "sucker punch wall", a load of boxing gloves randomly punching the
hell out of people as they try climbing across it.

its flipping crazy, the potential for serious injury jumping across those big balls, they mentioned some guy last week went out with a knew injury, im sure i saw his knee go past 180 degress. the horizontal spinning poll is crazy scary too, people did very well on it last week but when you get hit it certainly is a wipeout.

Its very funny allright, crossing those red balls is just an impossible task. I think the programme makers take the piss out of the participants bigtime which is part of its appeal. :D

I think this is brilliant. They look like they take some punishment aswell going through the obstacle course. The first time I saw the clip above, I couldn't stop laughing. Although on reflection it seemed nearly cruel as the person seems to have special needs.

Saw a clip of this a few days ago, looks hilarious alright!

They should get Clarkson and May to commentate with Hammond.

I watched a few episodes of this a few months ago. It's hilarious but gets boring quite quickly.

Is this an English version of it though?

    She looks mouldy drunk.
Show looks good but not as good as Takeshi's Castle, the best show ever made.:D

Last nights episode was hillarious. The guy with the dreads had me laughing out loud. His post-qualifier interview was hysterical. When he was knocked off the spinner he flipped about 6 times before he hit the water.

Thats the only bit I've seen, Hammond is a bit low key - whats needed a big crowd and
    Stewart "ha ha ha!" Hall

We watch it every week, it's hilarious. The only thing that takes from it is the fact that Hammond is clearly not there - he's back in the studio in the UK

That was indeed hilarious. especially in slow motion. Glad that dick that was in the army came last in the final, what a tosser.

They do seem to change the course slightly bit by bit each week though. The week before last they had changed the last part so that you swing around onto the platform, replacing the final obstacle in the clip above. And then this week they removed the muddy bit where the girl above got stuck and repalced it with greasy steps.
Not that I'm complaining too much as variety is the spice of life, but I did enjoy when someone gets stuck the first muddy bit.

Get the (original) American version, much better

Japanese broadcaster TBS is apparently suing for copyright infringement, claiming that Wipeout is a blatant rip-off of formats such as Takeshi's Castle and Ninja Warrior. Which it is. It's an obvious clone show.

The BBC can counter claim with "Its a Knockout" ... its an obvious clone perhaps but its also an obvious idea.

    DeV.

Just caught this show for the first time tonight....some very funny bits ....First i hated Clarkson but now i hate Hammond too...what a dull humourless presenter, the reason i dont watch top gear any more.... ok Byram's there because they feel they have to have a female presenter as well........its been mentioned here before but "Its a knockout" was miles ahead of this show mainly because it had an audience...clearly this show is recorded over a whole day so theres no budget for food and drink , but for this reason i think its totally lifeless and theres too many of those instant replay's ...

Good luck to them taking on the might of Endemol.

I think the word celebrity is being thrown around too lossely these days. I will watch however as I enjoy the show.

A million times this. I originally started with the English version during last Summer but caught both series of the American version on Watch over the past few months. The difference in quality between the two really is night and day. It's just so much better in every possible way. The obstacles are much tougher and I love that they change up the course for every episode. Keeps things fresh. And it's absolutely hilarious to boot. The two presenters are great.

The English version is very sterile in comparison.
