One thermomax solar panel tube has just been blown off my roof, in storm. All rest seem ok so far.

    What should I do?

Will the missing tube drain the panel?

Is there anything I should / can do?

    Thanks in advance

Don't worry , the tubes just transfer heat to the manifold , you can take one out & it doesn't effect the rest of the system from working. Wait for a calm day & replace the tube. Debris in todays high wind must have cracked the glass holding the tube into the into the seals in the manifold

    Cheers Bertie1.
I just cleared up the glass. The copper piece seems to be still attached tothe the panel. The whole tube blew onto the ground and smashed on the drive.

Pressure guage seems to have a normal reading.

How much would a new tube cost?

Can you buy a single tube?

Haven't a clue how much that brand cost , I have a different system in my house , but yes you can buy replacement tubes individually , I got some extra spares with mine which were around Euro 30.00 each when I bought the system, I think the thermomax ones were a bit dearer when I was pricing, I am sure the guy that supplied you could order a few spares for you , in case it happens again.

I remember asking about this when the sales guys were on a promotional tour... I think it was €75 per tube.
It is odd that it came loose. Perhaps it was never connected properly and was not inputing any heat in the first place? Do they not also have ties on the tubes at the top and bottom?
