What do people use with their GHD? Are the GHD products worth it? Any other recommendations?

I use any kind of heat protection spray, at the minute it's Botanics from Boots. It smells nice and goes a long way.
Believe it or not, I've been to 3 hairdressers who all told me not to use products with GHDs, something about it causing more damage because the chemicals in the heat protection spray etc don't mix well with the heat of the GHDs and that we're told to use something so the companies make money. This isn't my opinion, just what I've been told! :o

I use a Lee Stafford treatment (in in a pink pot thing) for straightening addicts! :D You wash it out between shampoo & conditioner. I find that really good for soft & shiny hair! I don't use any products after I wash my hair though

I wouldn't reccommend the GHD products, anytime I've used them, they've made my hair stiff and dull.

I dont think the ghd products are any good my hair had no shine and even looked a little greasy after them. i use nicky clarke heat protection spray but any brand of protection spray would do the job

Have to say I find the GHD heat protection oil excellent for my hair but I have quite thick hair so maybe this has something to do with it. It always turns out soft and shiny. I use it when my hair is damp before I blowdry it and then straighten it rather than spraying it on individual sections before straightening it as some guides recommend. I used their shampoo and conditioner and found them okay but nothing special.
