How do you take your sneeze?

....you know how it is....but o' dust in the air, sun light in your eyes, cat sniffing around or Ken Dodd creeps up behind you with his duster and you get that twinge in the centre of your head. You feel the tingle, is it a coldsore? Is it a sneeze? No, its a sneeze...ACHOOOOOO!!!!!! All is well in the world and someone always says "God bless ye!!!"

How do you sneeze? Do you lash it out with a huge shout? Do you hold it in and stop air bursting out to keep quiet? Do you do "The Repeater" where you do 7 or 8 small sneezes in a row? Very strange how people have their thing when it comes to sneezes!

Personally, I hold it in. Done myself some physical damage some years ago with some bruised ribs and it used to kill me to sneeze. Would have been easier to let it all out with a shout but, despite the pain, I stuck with my method....held it in and it stung my chest like hell and still did it regardless!

Ever sneezed in an awkward situation? Anyone heard of any sneeze related fatality or awkward-pubes-tickling-your-nose stories???? I'm talkin' sneezes here people!!!!! What do achoooo have to say?

(Obviously, I'm bored while watching the Late Late )

At home I lash them out, though I HATE sneezing.

If I'm somewhere else I'll try to prevent myself from doing it.

I cough it out quietly if people are near me.

If I'm along, inside or outside, I take a big lungful of air, and bellow it out, attempting to loose as much brain matter as possible in doing so.

My brother makes the bell in the doorbell ring when he sneezes. He is a Master.

In public, I do the regular sneeze, but I also tend to get 4 or 5 in a row, so that leads me to curse under my breath after each one, like FFS!

At home, I tend to let out big roaring ones, just to scare everyone when they're not expecting it.

As a child, I used to try hold it in, until something happened one day. I was in my aunt's house, and luckily I was the only one in the room. I tried to hold it in, but some of it pushed out, until suddenly I had a footlong snot string dangling from my nose. Legged it up to the bathroom, and haven't tried holding it in since then.

I usually do three or four big blasts of a sneeze, feels great when they are expelled. Really annoys me when you get the tingling, but it doesn't seem to be coming, so you hold your breath, brace......and it dies away. Does looking at the sun sometimes cause anyone here to sneeze? It's a condition of some sort, I forget the name of it. It doesn't happen everytime you look at the sun, but it will cause you to sneeze sometimes when there wasn't even an inkling of it.

If I'm in public I try and keep it in, don't want to be spreading my germs all round.
I can actually make myself sneeze whenever I want which some people find strange.

Same here. Although I never carry a handkerchief, which means that the sneeze usually is spread on my coat. I wonder how many sneezes has my coat soaked up through the years.....and how many germs.

This is me. My record is 14 in a row or 31 in the space of 3 minutes.

Thing is I suffer all year round with a form of heyfever called rhinitus ( llike winter heyfever ) and alergic to all kinds like perfume etc, so It's hard to predict when a sneeze is coming on ,specially if the ladyeeeee has some werid concoction on her person ;).

I love sneezing, I have to say:o. On a serious note can I take this opportunity to tell lots of people that it's extremely dangerous to hold in a sneeze. A sneeze travels out of your nose at about 100 miles an hour. When you hold it in, that force is redirected into your head. A woman who lives near me died of a brain haemhorrage. I heard that it was triggered off by holding in a sneeze, she was heard saying to someone in her local shop that she felt after doing so like something had 'popped' in her head. I also read in 'Take a Break' or 'Chat' magazine, I can't remember which, about this schoolgirl who'd been paralysed after suffering some kind of stroke. She said she'd been late entering one of her classes...felt a sneeze coming on but for fear of getting in more trouble, held it in. Straight away she felt a headache coming on, it got worse during the day and sadly she ended up in hospital with a brain haemhorrage.

I sneeze all the time. Any change in temperature sets my nose off :( Used to love sneezing back before it became a regular occurance. Each sneeze is very high intensity aswell, there is no shutting up that sneeze. In fact, quite a lot of them hurt. :(:(:(
