Anyone bought from here? Its an online store located in spain so it's in the EU. I was thinking of maybe buying some cigars from there (non-cuban,mind) maybe 25 or 50. You CAN get 50 large cigars from the canary islands for around 30 euros, for example, but id be so afraid of getting slapped with all kinds of import duty and tax on arrival.Would it be worth my time at all?

I buy regularly from them, once a month, my Amber Leaf and they are always prompt shipping my package that arrives to me usually in 2 or 3 days. I haven't had a single problem with customs and I've been buying from them for 4 years now if I remember well. I certainly recommend e-tobaccos.com

Oh i see, well that's good to know. Can I ask how much you spend a month? Because maybe if its a negligible amount they dont bother putting duty on it. Still not 100% sure on the duty regulations as I'm getting alot of conflicting answers there. Anyway thanks for the quick reply!

I think you are liable on duty on smokes & booze. but if it is too low it is not worth the admin costs to collect it. Some sites take a big payment and it is like a subscription, they send out 20 smokes every day, so you are not stung. But if all sent at once you would be.

hankbonde, have you even had contact from Irish customs? Do you order in large quantities, or just small amounts at a time?

I was sniffing around on the website and i found,in their terms of use http://www.e-tobaccos.com/buy-cigars/conditions.php ,some interesting quotes. They are,1. "4.1 Price, Invoice The total price (the "Price") shown by "e-Tobaccos.com" on the order is definitive. The Price includes: the price of the Products, handling costs, packaging and transport. No custom duties or value added taxes shall be due for deliveries in the European Union.",but before that they say 2. "3.2 Obligations of the Customer The Customer shall clearly indicate the address to which the Products are to be delivered during business hours. The Customer undertakes to pay the stated price for the "e-Tobaccos.com" Product delivery (price of the Products plus transport), as well as to pay, or have paid, directly to the carrier any additional amount that might arise due to custom duties, value added tax or other taxes due upon import into the country where the Products are delivered." So what does that mean? Maybe the second quote refers to countries outside the EU?

Anyway sorry for the wall of text just thought id put it in there.

Hmmm...I smell shillism, given the low post count of the OP and first responder.

Hardly. Is there a high instance of that kind of thing on these boards? I'm new here so i wouldn't know. I can't find much info on the net outside of their site so i thought id post here since its other irish people mostly and i cant get much out of that revenue.ie site (their customs and excise pdf is being updated.......natch).

be fair , it's not like they both join yesterday and processed to talk about how great a commercial site is.

    Oh wait a minute....

Yep, and on pretty much any board like this.

I don't see anything wrong with briany's post, it's a legit question. hankbonde however, traces back to Spain, which, coincidentally, is where e-tobacco's site is based. I'd take his positive recommendation with more than a grain of salt.

You should also maybe check with Customs to see if there are any limits on tobacco import (for personal consumption) as I wouldn't quite trust hankbond's assurance that there isn't.
