It can be done. How to do it depends on the TV you have and the laptop you have. If you have a flatscreen TV it probably has a VGA port which you can just connect to the VGA port on the laptop with this

If not then it depends on whether your TV has a SCART socket and if your laptop has a S-Video port. If so you could use an S-Video to Scart cable - for under a tenner in PC World.

Depends on the TV/Laptop i think.

My PC is relatively new, as is my TV, so all i needed was a HDMI-HDMI cable and i was grand (although i didn't know that until a member here -newbie2- informed me of it).

So pretty much, just see what connections you have on your laptop/TV and set the TV up as a second monitor on your laptop. Open whatever media player you are using in the second screen and full-screen it.

Power City are pretty affordable wire-wise in my opinion.

I'm sure there are other people posting here who an offer you much better advice than i ever will be able to, but i just thought i'd post anyway. Does no harm. :)
