Good regular Tremolo Pedal?

Just throwing it out there? What's a grand old regular tremolo pedal. Are the boss ones sufficient? Can't go wrong with a boss I suppose.
What about the danelectros? They seem cheap enough, but I have an danelectro octave pedal and it's not the best. it gurgles...
But surely a tremolo is just a tremolo pedal....

You can spend silly money on a Tremolo. I've had a Boss one for about 10 years, I ****ing love the effect and it's been grand as an effect and in terms of reliability and the thought of replacing it has never crossed my mind... which in many ways is quite an achievement for a piece of gear in my world :D

That Boss tremelo sounded very nice at our meet up, and didnt really seem to 'colour' the tone of any of the amps we tried it through. Thats one thing I notice with a lot of Boss pedals- even when not in use you can tell theyre in the signal chain- didnt notice it with that one though. I'd certainly be happy with the Boss one.

    this would be my choice,

theres an awful volume drop on the Boss if it's un-modded

I've got one which a lot of the users of this forum heard recently. Don't believe the hype.

I have the danelectro one & it sounds grand.
Nothing to compare it too though...

Not sure if that means it's good or not!! :pac: Sorry couldn't resist.
I used one on a custom pedal I built for someone and it sounded pretty good alright, though I think it drops the overall volume very slightly.
Those Danelectro guys are nuts. The ribbon cable that joins the two PCBs inside are done with the colours of the rainbow!! It's a nice touch, I think, because it must cost them a little bit more and adds absolutley no value whatsoever to the product which is cool IMO.
Not really a big fan of tremolo though, I usually turn it on and mess around with that REM song from Monster and then get bored.

You need to familiarise yourself with Mr. Billy Gibbons :)

Wait, there was a meet up?! :(

Mr. Tom Morello uses a Boss, so, I'd tend to go by his choice when it comes to effects! :D

The Marshall one sounds pretty decent from what I remember. It boosts a few preset dBs when the tremolo is kicked in, as I assume most do. It's hard to go far wrong with a basic tremolo effect.

But if I was shopping for a tremolo or a delay, a tap tempo would be pretty much the single biggest feature I'd be looking for. Failing that, or even with that, one with a speed dial that has meaningful numbers on it would also be nice. And having the make-up gain variable would also be useful.

No one ever caters to my neuroses. :(

Eoin: muti-fx based tremolos like that on my GT-6 can be tweaked and manipulated to infinity and beyond! Well maybe not, but it is pretty tweakable! :D
