OptiBay expansion anyone?

I've a 2nd Generation MBP, and my 160GB HDD is getting very near full. I was thinking of installing the OptiBay kit I saw online as well as replacing the main hard disk. It lets you mount a second hard disk instead of the internal optical drive, and then you can put your optical drive in a box they send you as well - which plugs in via firewire.

Anyone tried this? It seems like an involved enough job to open the case so I thought why not max out the storage while I'm at it. The machine's out of warranty and hasn't any Applecare cover.
