I've a Nobo projector ceiling mounted. I will be replacing this with a new projector, probably a Benq or an Epson. I don't know if the existing mount will fit any new projector. Is there a standard, like the VESA standard for monitors?

Unfortunatally projectors do not have a standard measurement system for mounting options like flat panels (VESA). This is because the many shapes and sizes projectors come in.

Projector brackets usually have adjustable arms to allow them to be compatible with a large range of projectors. So it is difficult to say if your projector will be compatible.

One important factor is if you are concidering a 1080p projector. 1080p projectors are usually huge in size and weight (sometimes more than 3-4 time the size of a common 720p projector) and require special mounts with extended arm's.

Great, thanks for the info. The projector is just for work presentations so nothing too high spec. The mount in place has a triangular plate and the Nobo has three matching holes so it look likes the mount might be for the particular projector. Off to google projector mounts...
